Concept

 Who inspired me to compose?

 Been doing it a while,

My 'nitial ode was when at school

Wish I had it on file.

I do recall th'initial lines

The ending too, I know,

The middle section, know the theme,

It just now will not flow.....

....Out of my memory bank of old.

When I was young, age ten

'Twas homework composition

T ' have kept it, I now yen.

"Alone I stood outside that shop

Watching, every five minutes, that lonesome clock

He's not turning up, I told myself,

I knew that friendship wouldn't last

(a few unrecalled verses where I meet his sister, who tells me)

He died last night in hospital

He was shot last night in town,

The curfew was for eight o'clock

And a sniper mowed him down.

Remember reading it to mum

A better verb, to gown

For my last line, I did not want

To say he " 'shot' him down."

But then my eldest brother fine

He would sent four lined verse

In Christmas/birthday cards to home

Could surely NOT do worse :D

And so I imitated him

['Tis what the young'uns do]

Though I progressed, some say 'excelled'

Can now compose on cue.

"Wake me up before you go go"

The title of this ode, is a song by WHAM from the '80's.      WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO   I heard that song this morning  On local radio Evoking strong memory Of really long ago. Was traveling from homeland That's Belfast, (north, six miles) To London's Heathrow airport, The song brought back some smiles. I sailed to Stranraer's harbour From our port, town of Larne Then o'ernight train going southbound Arriving there earl' morn. To catch my next connection Vancouver bound was I, The train ride, it was cheaper Than 'nother plane to fly Whene'er the train I boarded No seats avail'ble were Some military men were on them, Stretched out, without a care. I couldn't hear them snoring Or see the dreams they had But felt their tired demeanour To waken, would've been bad. Recall me having thought tough, How 'xhausted those men were, And how I'd feel if woken, To do so, wouldn't dare. The lines of song to my mind Came flooding back to...

That's a very good question / They LOVED me./ Night after Christmas

Look for Dan, Similar style to me. I will give the title of this ode at the end & you'll understand why, when you hear it. One phrase I've noticed past few years, Which irks me to extreme, Is heard in MANY interviews On media, it does seem. When being asked some questions, To information, give, Instead of starting th'answer off, This phrase, repeated, is. The first few times 'twas novel, But aft. a while, does tire, I feel like stretching out my hand, It sure does produce 'ire' It's heard also in general chat, In public, private too, Wherever folk do congregate  Or cause hullabaloo. It may be said on impulse, To have few seconds more, In order to form answer, For me, it irks, hearts, core. Of course it's a good question, Why ever ask one, bad ? Just give an answer to what's asked, Try not, to make me mad.(der) So what is it that irks me, That causes such aggression, That makes my teeth just grate with rage? Well, '' That's a v...

To Know, Know, Know Him. {song}

To know, know, know Him, Is to love, love, love Him, Just to walk His way, In His will, to stay, Yes. to know, know, know Him, Is to love, love, love Him, And I do, yes I do, do you? When He died for me, On that cruel tree, He endured such agony Just so He could set me free, He rose again triumphantly And He lives in Heav'n eternally, He wants you and me there too. Why can't men see How vast His love be? Some day He'll return To take His own to Glory. To know, really know Him, Is to love, truly love Him Live for Him each day, In His will, obey, Yes to know, know, know Him, Is to love, love, love Him And I know, He loves you too.                                                                                       ...
