35th anniversary - Gert Louw. (LinkdIn )

Thirty five years, Where’ve they gone? They’ve passed so rapidly, Remember well, we said “I do” When joining you, to me. Struggles, we came through them, Memories we have made, The good ones we do live on, The few bad memories, fade. We celebrate this landmark, One reached, alas, by few, We both took our vows seriously, Whenever we said “I do” The skeptics, question always Experience bad, not good, ‘Would you do it all again?’ If asked once more, “I WOULD” https://www.linkedin.com/in/gert-louw-664839b4/recent-activity/images/

Lazy Gene?

Can understand the concept Of 'automatic doors' 'Twas for disabled patrons, With ease, to enter stores Howe'er, it's made folk lazy, Some 'able folk', abuse, 'tis easier, the button, push, Than their biceps, to use. While sitting in Tim Hortons, {A coffee chain o'er here} In view of the main entrance, It became very clear. Majority of patrons, MOST,  able-bodied, were, The 'bi-peds' were a-walking, And NOT in a wheelchair. Majority of the customers, Simply, because it's there, Did push 'disabled button', Those, pulling doors, were rare. The younger folk, especially, {Well, this is all they've known} Refused to use their muscles, Has 'lazy gene' been sewn?

“So it is”

Methinks it is an Ulsterism,  Or maybe “Ulster/Scot”   But listening, to folk from ‘home’,  They say it, quite a lot.  It seems so natural to do,  Though since informed, I was,  I’ve caught myself and stopped just short,  Of saying, - just because.   Repeat, they do, the ‘so it is’  Quite oft’, the ‘so we do’,  E’en ‘so we did’ or ‘have’ and ‘are’  Would oft’ be heard, by you.   It seems it’s for em-pha-sis,  To stress a point of view, Since told, I’ve stopped myself, just short  Of saying it, on cue.  I’d never even thought before,  The Ulsterism, gram.,  So glad ’twas brought to MY ‘ttention,  I AM pleased, ............. ‘so I am’.

Linkdin Letter 'O'

Open to a challenge, Ordinarily, Oh what can I write here? Others, for to see? Obstruction in department Of thought process today, Often have no problem, but. . . . . . Oh what can I say? Obviously disappointed Of what my brain does do, Operating badly, Obscured my inner view. Oddly, it’s not normal, Other days - no probs Ominously treacherous Oh how my brain throbs.
