I learned to drive in homeland,
Drove there for just six years,
Before migrating westward,
Though bringing "joyful tears"
Because I'm Northern Irish,
Though British nation, be,
Was not deemed here, as 'British',
So did not guarantee
To just 'transfer' my licence,
To drive, Ontario's routes,
So had to take a second test,
And study 'driving books'.
With recent memory problems,
Suggested was, that I,
Be tested 'gain for driving,
T'ensure my mind was spry.
So 'nother drive test booked, it was,
This time, no 'written test',
More 'psychological', 'actual'
I tried, and did my best.
With finances, now looking good,
New vehicle suggestion, came,
My 'nitial thought, don't care the make,
Though colour. RED, my aim.
My vehicles, past, in colours were,
Green, greys. (dark, light) and white,
So wanted something vibrant,
Whene'er I'd come in sight.
My trusted vehicle mechanic,
From whom my last, I'd bought,
Did only have ONE car for sale,
No harm looking, - I thought.
H'informed me it was a "RAV 4",
Could not think, how it looked,
Though, when I saw the colour, RED,
On it, was quickly hooked.
picked it up May 23rd
