This morning, icy outdoors,
While to the car, was goin'
I slipped and fell on pavement,
Did break clavicle bone.
The pavement was the parking lot
Of home, where I abide,
Another resident, 'ppointment had,
Was giving him a ride.
Did drive him to and from it,
A wait of half an hour,
The nurse in charge at residence
When I got home, in car
Did telephone for ambulance
She wanted it checked out,
To local hospital arrived
Bone broken, there's no doubt.
So, 'nother 'break' I will have,
Is break from driving now,
So glad it wasn't Springtime,
Loathe winter driving, anyhow.
