We used to meet and nod our heads
Acknowledging each other,
Not knowing, in an instant
We would miss, sister and brother.
A virus struck, not just our land,
Spreading to all the nations,
Governments closed down the world,
Banning, even, celebrations.
While still, on line, we can connect,
A virus struck, not just our land,
Spreading to all the nations,
Governments closed down the world,
Banning, even, celebrations.
While still, on line, we can connect,
A 'something' has been missing;
That pers'nal touch, I speak of,
Giving hugs - { just skip the kissing.}
That 'gentle touch', the 'long embrace',
Displays appreciation,
"You're welcome, loved and needed"
It will matter not, the nation.
So WHEN we get to meet again
Recall this time of respite
Embraces should be plenty,
We'll remember how we missed it.
