Living in the U.K.
At age eleven years,
A transfer test is carried out,
Can cause some tears or cheers
All five brothers above me,
Had passed this 'transfer test'
My mother felt my tension,
To keep up with the rest.
That 'tension' could cause seizure,
Which came sporadically,
Not knowing WHEN 'twould happen,
She did look out, for me.
Not looking for disruption,
When under so much stress,
Which could have put my peers off
Their train of thought, no less.
Months earlier she visited
The principle at school,
He was a guy quite open,
As 'old man', pretty 'kewl'
With him and with the school board,
Conclusion, they came to,
The 'test' done, if in hospital,
Was one, that I could do.
The test by all my school peers,
Had, months apart, tests, two,
However, only ONE test
By me, was giv'n to do.
So when results were posted,
My thoughts, if failed, implore,
The second part, I wanted,
To help increase my score.
However, and I'm grateful,
I too did PASS that test,
And with the passing years, showed
I was as good as th'rest.
