* Heart Attack

My mother in her sixties 

A cardiac arrest

Did suffer, just a mild one,

She had many-a-test,


She ended up in hospital,

'Wired-up' to heart machine,

Which monitored its function 

Can be a scary scene.


Remained there for a few weeks

Under the doctor's care

It really was a blessing

That she did make it there.


Knowing it's genetic

SHOULD make me, wary, be,

Though I've a little secret,

That does take care of me.


So while in my genetics 

No worries, I confess,

Too many folk have told me that.....

........ I'm totally 'heart-less'

Murphy, in the morning and through                             the decades. A 'Newfie' and 'New Scotian'  Their life paths, they did meet, 'Way back, in the '40's Soon, patter of tiny feet. "Wake me up before you go go"

 The title of this ode, is a song by WHAM from the '80's.      WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO   I heard that song this morning  On local radio Evoking strong memory Of really long ago. Was traveling from homeland That's Belfast, (north, six miles) To London's Heathrow airport, The song brought back some smiles. I sailed to Stranraer's harbour From our port, town of Larne Then o'ernight train going southbound Arriving there earl' morn. To catch my next connection Vancouver bound was I, The train ride, it was cheaper Than 'nother plane to fly Whene'er the train I boarded No seats avail'ble were Some military men were on them, Stretched out, without a care.
