When infants start to notice 

All their surroundings, near,

Their parents, extended family,

Those, who hold them dear.


They tend to copy actions,

Most automatically,

A smile, a laugh, an action,

Their innate response, see.


Believe it  or b'lieve it not,

That 'copy' trait is seen

Even in our four legged friends,

D'they have that 'copy Gene'?


Recall an instance, years ago,

Pet dog of family,

Watched me yawn, then he did it too,

It was a sight to see.

Murphy, in the morning and through                             the decades. A 'Newfie' and 'New Scotian'  Their life paths, they did meet, 'Way back, in the '40's Soon, patter of tiny feet.
