Poor Memory

Don't want to be a burden On family or friend, Have cared for those, advanced stage, Right up until their end. 'Twas easier for me though, Their young life, I knew not, So did accept them as they were, Didn't know, what they forgot. Though when it does get closer, Not even 'family' Quite difficult it is t'accept Whene'er the person's ME. When I can recall years gone by, As if 'twas yesterday, Instruction giv'n, too soon, gone, Know SOMETHING's gone awry. So bare with me I'm pleading, If  'not myself', I seem, In mind, I may be going through files, Right word or phrase to cream. It may not come instantly, As words did, years gone by, There's so much more now crammed there, So THAT's the reason why.

Sad News : March 27th

A HORRID day for me, 't'as been, With mem'ry issues, poor, A Doctor's 'ppointment, it was made, So it could be made sure. A few tests, they were carried out, Some questions, they were posed, Early onset Altzheimers  Has now been diagosed.   The future, 'tis uncertain,  With disease I've acquired,  My driving days? up in the air,  T hankful, I have retired.  'Twill be for me, much harder,  Since nearly 40, was,  Before my first car did acquire,  Those seizures, were the cause. A test, for driving, needed 'Twill be in a few day,  I'm fearful of the outcome,  So asking, those who pray,  To send some towards Heaven,  Where dwells Creator God,  Whate'er His will, be carried out, The outcome, will Him, laud.  MY preference, show compassion,  And I will pass  the test, To keep me able, still, to drive, And His name WILL be blest.  Test scheduled for April 25th

My Parents

My parents, how I miss them so,       They LOVED me, as the rest,       However, due to my illness,        Cared for me, with more zest.       Mum worried about ALL of us,        Though when they reached 18,        She worried LESS for them, as she        Had done her job, ’twas seen.        However, both continued to        Show me love, with concern,        Due to the longterm ailment, had,        Solution, they did yearn.       Dad drove me, just like a chauffeur,       H is love,  great, did a bound,       The 'bonding' times in car, we shared,       A love, e'erlasting, found.       When working as a Tradesman, he,       S ome overtime, w ould do,     ...

Progression?

AMAZING, we survived, indeed We HAD to ‘THINK’, to WRITE, AND READ, Walk to library’s, g et a book, ALSO, we were taught to COOK. Thread a needle, darn a sock, To do that NOW, they’d die of shock. They PRINT when writing - cursive's GONE Their BOOKS, - on line,  Real print's a "yawn", The 'fast food' industry, it did GROW, Home made meals? - to cook, - too slow. And YET they SAY, "progression's made" Personally, I'd give them  'F' grade. Also, their spelling, "a-tro-shush" Use numbers, making words, They will not w8, if U R L8, Clockface, for them, absurd. Oh to return to bygone days, Which weren't THAT long ago, And while change wasn't just as FAST, It wasn't 'snail's pace' SLOW.

The Computer Brain

The brain's a super computer,  That SELDOM gets to rest, Unless in induced coma, Though with CARE, works its best. It's sofware is updated Through life experiences, By reading, education, And RESTING, when it says. More time spent on computer,  The man made type, not 'brain' Will mean it will work slower, So t'shut down, one MUST train. Thus, full 8 hours of sleeping A world of good will do, Though fo'many individuals, They CAN work well with few. The Hard Drive needs some maintainance, For brain, think "Gratitude"  Keep journal, meditation, Will do the world of good.

Feline Heaven

When children own an animal, A family pet, to care,  Something that they, maturity can Display, through 'motions bare. It can be educational Proving life's brevity, For should we live to adulthood, Of THIS, we ALL, will see. I'd heard for years that canine friends To "doggie heaven", go Though felines, who "have nine lives" They do NOT go 'below' Instead they to a special place, When quenched all their 'nine lives' Their equivalent to canine's rest? Why, it's called  "Purradise"

John 11: 35

What if our God was crying? He HAS; and oft.; I'm sure, John's Gospel, 11: 35 "Jesus wept", Jerusalem, o'er. He grieves and cries when children, By adults, are abused, Their innocence, it's stolen, Emotionally bruised. He wept when watching His son, While on that rugged cross, Though three days later, when He rose I'm sure, tears of rejoice. He weeps, when people listening To all His Love, bestowed, STILL choose to go their own way, Reject that His blood, flowed. He wept, - though not recorded, When Eve, that fruit did eat Of knowledge 'good and evil' And satan, man, did cheat. He ALSO weeps, though tears of joy, When sinners DO repent, Who start to follow in HIS way, Eternity, - Heaven spent.

Tears of God

I DO believe th’Almighty DOES shed some tears of grief Whene’er we turn our backs on His LOVE and His belief. However experience shows He ready is, and WILL Receive us back to His fold When before Him, we’re still. We’ve read how, in the Bible O’er Jerusalem, HE wept And yet STILL loved 'the people’ At THAT, HE is adept. The shortest verse in Bible, John 'leven, thirty five, With just two words, depicts it, He wept, while still alive. Forgiveness TOO, He’s mastered At THAT, we fall way short, We MAY, forgive,- but forget? THAT is so hard to court. Though He can tears of JOY show Whenever WE decide, To turn our lives around and In HIS way, we abide.

Nelma Merlau. Mar 13th

Should never tell a lady’s age,                                                           E’en when it does excel, Though oft’ ’tis said, by bard and sage,                                   Permission’s given, to tell.                                        The year in question, ’35,                                                                                                  The nineteen hundre...
