You ever gone on holiday

That wasn't up to scratch?

Saw brochure with a plush hotel,

Reality did not match?

What they had promised freely,

To get your attention,

Wasn't what was witnessed,

Some things, did not mention.

Maybe food was not the best,

Was not, what was expected,

The area, too far from town,

Made you feel so dejected.

People say the afterlife

In Hell, one party be,

They WILL be disappointed

If THAT's what's hoped to see.

A holiday is short term,

Next life, it's ETERNAL,

Choose wisely and do, early,

For Hell, it IS infernal.

Gifts of gold, incense and myrrh For that baby lying there Were not gifts without much thought, Significant references, they brought. GOLD , for riches of a king, Of properties e'erlasting ring, To celebrate the Kingly birth, Who came as man upon the earth. FRANKINCENSE came from the east For th'annointing of a priest, This babe, a Prophet, Priest and King, Eternal life for all to bring. MYRRH was given, though bitter it's taste, Preparing for the death to be faced, The purpose of His life, - the Cross, To save the world from eternal loss. The media bombard with ads., Pushing forth the latest fads, The parents now seem under stress, They're spending more, though giving less. Oh to live in bygone days Though cash was scarce, with less in pays, The children, then, were quite content And knew what Christmas really meant

Who is this Man Addenda (in blue) to an anthem by Mary Kay Beall entitled Who is this Man? sung in my home church choir a few years ago. Who is this man upon a cross By love's decree, brought low? They say He came to save the world Because God loved us so The King of Kings And Lord of Lords Eternally He'll reign Can it be true He died for me And yes, would die again Who is this man upon the cross? He is a friend to me And though I oft Him disappoint His love has set me free The King of Kings And Lord of Lords He took my sin and pain And yes it's true He died for me, But will return again
